EDSZ PPR INFORMATION
90% of our inbound phone calls at EDSZ inquire on whether or not a PPR is necessary.
Please consider that unless defined by an active NOTAM a PPR is N O T mandatory.
According to the AIP VFR ONLINE of EDSZ you can takeoff or land in EDSZ without a PPR in EDSZ on MON - SUN during SUNRISE to SUNSET.
MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT FORGET TO CHECK NOTAMs. The NOTAM will indicate if the AD EDSZ is PPR during the defined timeperiod.
If not indicated by the NOTAM the PPR is OPTIONAL. The benefit of an optional PPR is expedited services if required.
Some services may only be available if a PPR is filed. E.g. parking oustide over 6h or inside a hangar.
The PPR is straightfoward, please use the REMAKRS field to request services. The PPR fee is 25,00 EUR .
The PPR does N O T replace the customs notification request. You have to request this on our customs form, if your origin / destination is a non-EU country.
The PPR may or may not change whether the airfield is attended with radio communication provided by the tower or whether the airfield is operated in unattended mode.
Unattended operation requires BLIND MESSAGES , communication among pilots and adherence to the published traffic pattern.
